⚡ Short version: Keyboardverter does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or typed text. Everything happens locally on your device.

What Keyboardverter does

Keyboardverter is a Chrome extension that detects when you have typed text using the wrong keyboard layout (Hebrew, Russian, or English) and offers to convert it with one click.

Data we do NOT collect

We do not read, store, or transmit any text you type
We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information
We do not track which websites you visit
We do not use cookies
We do not sell any data to third parties

What is stored locally

Keyboardverter saves your preferences using Chrome's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and includes:

Whether the extension is enabled or disabled
Which languages are active (Hebrew, Russian)
A list of websites where you have disabled the extension

This data is stored in chrome.storage.sync which may sync across your Chrome devices if you are signed in to Chrome, but it is never accessible to us.

Anonymous usage analytics

When you install or uninstall the extension, a small anonymous event (timestamp + event type only) is sent to our analytics endpoint. No personal data, no text, no browsing history is included. This is used only to count how many people use the extension.

Permissions explained

storage — to save your settings locally
activeTab — to read the current site's hostname for the per-site disable feature
tabs — same as above, used in the popup
all websites access — required so the extension can run on any page you visit and detect keyboard mismatches in text fields

Children's privacy

Keyboardverter does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make any changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
